B. Picosecond and Nanosecond Pulsed DBR Laser diodes

Pico-DBR

Photodigm can offer pulsed DBR between continuous down to 100ps pulse duration for all the Photodigm’s wavelengths, which can be used in laser processing among others.

  • Edge-triggered pulse, user adjustable width
  • Optical pulse widths from 100 picoseconds to 850 nanoseconds
  • Pin socket connection to Type-1 butterfly-packaged laser diodes, solder connect optional; compatible with other diode packages
  • Laser current, bias, and pulse widths are settable with onboard trimpots or by external analog inputs
  • LVTTL, or optional LVDS / 2.5V PECL / 2.5V CML trigger

It can also provide pulses down to some nanoseconds, in the case of more particular setups (Gain switch mode close to threshold). For instance, Peak Power can reach 500mW @976nm and 600mW @1064nm for 4ns pulses, and up to 500mW at both wavelengths for 20ns pulses.
